From the Martinenga monopole in Barbaresco, an elegant, perfumed Nebbiolo where intense plum and cherry blend with balsamic mint, tea leaf, dried flowers and gold-leaf tobacco.

What it pairs with

  • Brasato al Barolo
The braise meets the monopole's elegant structure.
  • Roast guinea fowl
Delicate game suits the perfumed red fruit.
  • Aged Castelmagno
Salt sharpens the cherry and tobacco lift.

History

The Gresy family has owned the Martinenga monopole, a natural amphitheatre in Barbaresco, since 1797 and has bottled its own elegant Nebbiolo from it since 1973.

  1. 1797 — Gresy family acquires the Martinenga monopole
  2. 1973 — Estate bottling of Barbaresco Martinenga begins
