Aroma: black cherry, violets, forest floor

Palate: full body, present polished tannin, light vegetal edge, dry close

Fragrant and true to the variety, with black cherry, violets and forest aromas of good intensity, then a full body, present but polished tannin and a dry, savoury close.

What it pairs with

  • Charcoal-grilled steak
Present tannin and a dry finish need char and fat to work against.
  • Mushroom and barley stew
The forest floor register in the nose meets earthy fungi directly.
  • Roast pork with wild herbs
The light vegetal edge in the wine picks up herb seasoning.

Frequently asked about Vinha de Púcaros Touriga Nacional Resíduo Zero

What does Resíduo Zero mean?

The grapes carry no detectable pesticide residues, below 0.01 mg per kilogram, from a Quinta do Paço vineyard certified residue free by ZERYA. The producer claims it as the first such wine in the Iberian Peninsula.

Is it oaked?

No. It is unoaked, and the reviewer for Público noted the wine has only seen stainless steel and concrete, which is why its fruit reads as so primary.
