The Moscato di Pantelleria is a lighter, fresher sweet wine style compared to the passito: Zibibbo grapes not fully dried produce a wine of floral freshness, bright apricot character and lower alcohol, ideal as an aperitivo or light dessert wine.

What it pairs with

  • Granita di gelsi (mulberry granita)
Fresh floral and fruit sweetness mirrors the light freshness of Sicilian ices.
  • Fresh fruit platter
Floral-apricot sweetness pairs naturally with fresh stone and tropical fruits.
  • Pastries with pastry cream
The wine's gentle sweetness complements light cream-filled Sicilian pastries.

History

Pellegrino's Moscato di Pantelleria represents the lighter, more immediately accessible sweet wine from the island, using Zibibbo grapes not fully sun-dried. The appellation requires a minimum of 11% alcohol and allows a fresher, more floral expression than the concentrated Passito di Pantelleria style.
