Approachable Crianza from Bodegas Vizcarra Ramos at Fuentelcesped on the eastern Burgos plateau, with cherry, plum and cedar from 14 months in mixed oak and balanced, food-friendly tannins.

What it pairs with

  • Grilled lamb cutlets
Classic Ribera pairing of red fruit and medium tannins with mild lamb.
  • Pork loin with pepper sauce
The wine's spice and moderate tannins complement pork in pepper sauce.
  • Cured Iberico ham with bread
Fresh cherry and light cedar match the saline depth of Iberico jamon.

History

Bodegas Vizcarra Ramos operates from the clay-limestone soils near Fuentelcesped east of Aranda de Duero, a different estate from the related Bodegas Vizcarra at Mambrilla de Castrejon. The Crianza reflects the concentrated style typical of the eastern Burgos sub-zone.
