Aroma: red cherry, plum, cedar, dried herbs

Palate: dark cherry, earthy spice, cedar, balanced tannins

Classic Ribera Crianza from the La Rioja Alta group's Anguix estate: red cherry, plum and cedar with earthy spice in a balanced, medium-bodied style reflecting the long-oak-ageing philosophy of the Rioja parent.

What it pairs with

  • Roast lamb with garlic
Classic Castilian pairing for this traditionally styled Crianza.
  • Iberico pork loin with rosemary
Cedar and herb notes in the wine complement the aromatic pork.
  • Patatas con chorizo
Everyday Castilian comfort food meets the wine's earthy, accessible style.

History

Bodegas Aster was established in 2000 as the Ribera del Duero arm of La Rioja Alta group, based at Anguix in the eastern Burgos sector. The estate applies the Rioja parent's philosophy of long barrel and bottle ageing to the region's Tinto Fino.
