What it pairs with

  • Grilled trout with almonds
Mineral and citrus notes are a natural match for delicate freshwater fish.
  • Chicken in Riesling cream sauce
Apricot blossom and mineral Riesling complement a classic Riesling-sauce preparation.
  • Mild goat's cheese
Citrus and mineral freshness pair well with tangy fresh goat's cheese.

History

Pfaffenberg is a recognised Riesling Ried in Kremstal, shared between Winzer Krems and Emmerich Knoll (who bottles it as a Wachau DAC wine from his Kremstal parcels). The cooperative's version offers the site's characteristic mineral character at an accessible price.

  1. 1960 — Winzer Krems first bottles Pfaffenberg Riesling as a single-site wine
