History
Stift Göttweig has cultivated vines since its founding as a Benedictine monastery in 1083. The estate's 30 hectares fall within the Kremstal DAC appellation (east of the Wachau). The Grüner Veltliner Reserve was established as the estate's premium cuvée in the 1990s as quality improved under monastic stewardship.
