Chante-Perdrix (the singing partridge) is Delas's Cornas expression from granite terraces. One of the most accessible and reliable Cornas wines from a major negociant house.

What it pairs with

  • Partridge with lentils
The wine's name suggests the pairing; game bird and earthy lentils.
  • Lamb with olives and thyme
Classic Rhone preparation; the wine's black olive notes echo the dish.
  • Beef daube with mushrooms
Rich beef stew and firm tannins are a natural Northern Rhone combination.

History

Chante-Perdrix has been Delas's Cornas since 1975. The evocative name (the singing partridge) reflects the wild game-bird landscapes of the granite Cornas hillsides.

  1. 1975 — First vintage of Chante-Perdrix as Delas's Cornas cuvee
