Palate: concentrated black fruit, graphite, mineral, polished tannins

Aster's prestige single-vineyard label from the El Otero parcel, with concentrated cassis, graphite and mineral character from 20 months in French oak and the estate's best old vines.

What it pairs with

  • Roast rack of lamb with garlic and thyme
The wine's polished intensity and cedar spice suit aromatic herb-roasted lamb.
  • Grilled Iberico secreto
Polished tannins and concentrated fruit complement the premium marbled Iberico cut.
  • Manchego DOP curado
Firm tannins and mineral notes pair well with the firm savoury sheep's cheese.

History

Finca El Otero is Aster's prestige single-parcel selection from the estate's best plots at Anguix. It represents the La Rioja Alta group's ambition for a Ribera del Duero wine of the highest quality, using the long ageing and careful barrel philosophy they apply in Rioja.
