Angelita honours the family grandmother who expanded the holdings at Valtuille de Abajo. The wine comes from a single monovarietal Chardonnay plot the family planted on trellis in 1994, at 900 metres with an east aspect on rolled stone and clay, where very small bunches and low yields give high concentration. It is among the first wines picked in the region each year.
Pale yellow with golden reflections. The nose is notably complex, with fresh fruit of apple and pear, citrus grapefruit, caramel, bakery recall and herbal fennel; as it opens, acacia blossom appears. The palate is unctuous with a pleasant persistent bitterness and moderate acidity.
One hundred per cent Chardonnay, from a plot the family planted on trellis in 1994 at 900 metres in Valtuille de Abajo.
Drink between two and eight years from vintage.
