What it pairs with

  • Bread pudding with custard
The wine's toffee sweetness and vanilla warmth mirror the caramelised character of bread pudding.
  • Walnuts and dried fruit
Nutty-sweet notes in the wine are amplified by roasted walnuts and dried fruit.
  • Manzanilla cheese
The soft, washed-rind cheese's creaminess is lifted by the wine's sweet-spice character.

History

Royal Corregidor takes its name from the Corregidor, the Royal Administrator in the Jerez region during the Spanish Golden Age. Sandeman Jerez has produced this sweet Oloroso VOS from very old soleras since the early 20th century, sweetening the base Oloroso with Pedro Ximénez to the medium-sweet profile favoured in the British market.

  1. 1920 — Royal Corregidor Oloroso solera established at Sandeman Jerez
  2. 2000 — VOS certification conferred by the Consejo Regulador
