What does Little Ark Red taste like?
Lantides describes a light salmon colour with some brick-coloured hues and an excellent, complex structure. The nose carries a bouquet of smoky black fruits, strawberries, dark cherries, liquorice and ripe tomato, and the palate is full bodied with rich fruit depth, blackberries, plums, herbaceous hints and oak on the back, with solid velvety tannins and a long aftertaste.
What grapes are in Little Ark Red?
It is 50 percent Xinomavro and 50 percent Agiorgitiko, two indigenous Greek varieties, one from the north and one from the Peloponnese.
Where do the grapes come from?
The Agiorgitiko comes from the eastern side of the Asprokampos mountain in Nemea at 650 metres on clay and calcareous soil, blended with fruit from the Amyntaio plateau in Florina at 550 metres.
How long is Little Ark Red aged?
It is a varietal wine with 12 months of ageing in new oak barrels.
