In the glass
Aroma: dark cherry, dried rose, chalk, smoked meat
Palate: black cherry, iron, volcanic stone, licorice
Feudo is the most structured of the Russo single-contrada range: darker-fruited, firmer in tannin, with a chalky mineral depth that demands patience but rewards handsomely.
What it pairs with
-
Braised short ribs alla siciliana
The wine's density and firm tannins call for long-cooked, rich beef. -
Grilled porcini mushrooms with garlic
Chalky mineral depth and dark-fruit notes resonate with the earthy richness of porcini. -
Aged Ragusano DOP
The wine's structure handles the intensity of this hard, crystalline Sicilian cheese.
History
Feudo is the middle tier of the Russo single-contrada range, from a contrada at higher elevation than San Lorenzo. The wine is produced without fining or filtration, farmed organically, and represents the best balance between accessibility and the structured power of the estate's top parcels.
