In the glass
Aroma: wild blackberry, garrigue, iron, violet
Palate: damson, tobacco, graphite, savoury herb
Mourvedre-dominant Bandol from the Bronzo family's biodynamic estate at Sainte Anne d'Evenos. L'Estagnol is the flagship cuvee from old vines, with iron grip and garrigue depth.
What it pairs with
-
Magret de canard with cherries
L'Estagnol's blackberry and iron register matches duck breast with cherry jus; tannins handle the fat. -
Wild boar daube
Provencal game stew finds a peer in the wine's leather and garrigue depth. -
Hard sheep cheese with quince paste
Salt-and-sweet pairing meets the wine's tannin frame; quince echoes the wine's red-fruit lift. -
Roast lamb shoulder with herbes de Provence
Herb crust mirrors the wine's garrigue aromatics; iron grip handles the lamb fat.
