Corte Rugolin ferments its Valpolicella for ten days on the fresh pomace of its Recioto and Amarone, then puts the wine into barrique for a year, which is what gives the bottling its extra weight and its long life.
The estate describes a wine of high quality and notable longevity, with a strong and decisive character and an intense bouquet of cherry, plum and conserve. It recommends serving at 18 to 20 degrees Celsius.
The Valpolicella Classico is refermented for ten days on the fresh pomace of the estate's Recioto and Amarone, then aged twelve months in barrique and three months in bottle.
