The prestige red Chateauneuf of La Nerthe; Mourvedre-accented, deeply inky, and firmly structured, requiring time in bottle to reveal its complexity.

What it pairs with

  • Braised lamb shanks with herbs
Powerful tannins and iron-herb notes demand slow-braised lamb.
  • Truffle-crusted rack of venison
Mourvedre's iron and herb depth are natural with rich game and truffle.

History

Cuvee des Cadettes is the prestige red of Chateau La Nerthe, first produced in 1990 from old Grenache and Mourvedre parcels. The use of new oak barriques distinguishes it from the traditional foudre-aged estate red.
