In the glass
Aroma: dark cherry, plum jam, cedar, tobacco
Palate: dark fruit, cedar spice, firm tannins, mineral finish
The Emina Reserva applies 20 months in French oak to produce a fuller-bodied, more structured expression: dark cherry, plum jam and tobacco, with firm tannins and mineral finish from the Peñafiel limestone soils.
What it pairs with
-
Slow-roasted suckling pig (cochinillo)
Firm structure and dark fruit balance the rich Castilian cochinillo. -
Beef casserole with mushrooms and herbs
Tobacco and cedar notes echo the earthy mushrooms and slow-cooked beef. -
Aged Manchego with romero honey
Firm tannins and cedar complement the aromatic honey-drizzled aged cheese.
History
Emina Reserva extends the French oak ageing to 20 months and draws from the estate's best Peñafiel parcels. The Matarromera group's investment in this estate has produced a Reserva that consistently outperforms its price point.
