Palate: ripe red cherry, dark plum, vanilla spice, smooth tannins

Classic Alejandro Fernandez-style Crianza from his second Ribera estate at La Horra: ripe cherry, plum and American-oak coconut vanilla in the traditional mould of the Pesquera school.

What it pairs with

  • Roast lamb (lechazo asado)
The classic Fernandez house style in American oak is a natural companion to slow Castilian roast lamb.
  • Pork shoulder with paprika
American vanilla oak and cherry fruit complement the smoky spiced pork.
  • Manchego curado
Smooth tannins and red cherry match medium-aged sheep's-milk cheese.

History

Condado de Haza was founded in 1989 by Alejandro Fernandez of Tinto Pesquera fame as his second Ribera del Duero estate at La Horra. It carries forward the same 100% Tinto Fino philosophy and American-oak ageing approach that Fernandez used at Pesquera to build the appellation's international reputation.
