What it pairs with

  • Whole roasted lamb
The wine's power and complexity require the most celebratory of Castilian roasts.
  • Wild mushroom and game stew
Earthy, mineral notes in the wine resonate with game and mushroom depth.
  • Aged Manchego Viejo or Torta del Casar
Intense, aged Spanish cheeses can stand up to this wine's concentrated character.

History

El Anejon de Carraovejas was launched in 1999 as the estate's prestige single-vineyard offering, named for the oldest parcels on the property. It represents the culmination of the estate's work in Bordeaux-influenced winemaking.
