In the glass
Aroma: cassis, dark cherry, violet, cedar
Palate: concentrated black fruit, graphite, espresso, ultra-fine tannins
Garcia Figuero's prestige single-vineyard selection: concentrated cassis, violet and graphite from the estate's best old-vine parcel at La Horra, aged 20 months in new French oak and released only in exceptional vintages.
What it pairs with
-
Prime Castilian beef entrecote
Dense graphite tannins and concentrated fruit call for the fat and depth of prime beef. -
Venison haunch with red berry sauce
Violet and cassis in the wine mirror the gamey meat and fruity sauce. -
Aged Manchego DOP viejo with walnut
Ultra-fine tannins pair with the nutty, crystalline texture of old Manchego.
History
Tinus is Garcia Figuero's apex label, produced from the single parcel with the oldest Tinto Fino vines at La Horra. The name references the Tinto Fino grape (also called Tinto del Pais or Tinta del Toro). Only made in exceptional vintages and aged 20 months in new French oak.
- 2006 — First Tinus vintage released from the Garcia Figuero best old-vine parcel
