Frequently asked about Chardonnay Cuvee Geoffrey Aldred

Does Breaky Bottom grow Chardonnay as well as Seyval?

Yes. The vineyard bottles both, with Chardonnay and Chardonnay-Pinot cuvees alongside its founding Seyval Blanc releases.

How is the Chardonnay cuvee different from the Seyval?

Chardonnay gives a rounder, more orchard-fruited and classically autolytic wine, where long-aged Seyval keeps a leaner, more citric frame.

Is Breaky Bottom easy to find?

The vineyard sits in a fold of the Downs above Rodmell, reached by a chalk track, which is why collection is by appointment only.
