History

Sancerre rouge La Moussière is made from Pinot Noir vines between 5 and 45 years old on a 5.5 hectare parcel of Saint-Doulchard marls within the Domaine de la Moussière, a single vineyard of over thirty hectares on the south-western tip of Sancerre. The grapes are picked by hand into 25 kg boxes and sorted twice. The estate trains its vineyard in organic and biodynamic viticulture, and Biodyvin lists Domaine Alphonse Mellot as a member since 2006 with the Biodyvin label.
