Founded in 1861 by Pedro Ferrer Bosch (the Ferrer family had been making wine at the Freixenet estate in Mediona since the 13th century). The current cellars in Sant Sadurni were built between 1920 and 1929 and inscribed in the BCIN heritage register. Cordon Negro launched in 1974 in the black frosted bottle that became the global Cava reference. The Casa Sala paraje is part of the Cava de Paraje Calificado category.
Tasting: Multilingual 90-minute tours of the 1920s cellar by the Sant Sadurni train station, with a tourist-train ride around the property and a tasting of Carta Nevada, Cordon Negro and a Reserva. Reservation required for tours; the modern tasting room is walk-in.

Founded in 1992 by Pere Ventura, fourth generation of a Cava-making family in Sant Sadurni. Modern winery on the Vilafranca road, focused on Gran Reserva long-lees Cavas. The Tresor Club candle-lit cellar room is used for the long-ageing library.
Tasting: Personalised tour of the cellars including the candle-lit Tresor Club room, ageing galleries and a tasting flight of Gran Reserva cuvees, often paired with local cheese and ham platters.

Founded in 1949 in central Sant Sadurni; part of Gonzalez Byass since 1982. The current Finca Can Petit vineyards (bought 1990) and modern cellar (inaugurated 2005) sit 6 km outside Sant Sadurni at 200 metres above sea level in Espiells. The trencadis ceramic artwork on the cellar exterior pays homage to Gaudi's Park Guell.
Tasting: Visit to the Finca Can Petit estate at 200 metres above sea level on the Espiells plateau, with Gaudi-influenced trencadis cellar artwork, vineyard walk and tasting of Vilarnau Brut Reserva and Brut Rosado.
