The Lageder family has farmed biodynamically since the 1990s and achieved full Demeter certification on 55 hectares of estate vineyards in Magre in 2024. The Tenutae Lageder range (Lowengang Chardonnay, Krafuss Pinot Noir, Comets blends) is fully Demeter-certified; the negociant Riff range is organic-certified.

Tip: The Casa del Vino tasting precinct in Magre includes Paradeis (the estate restaurant) and the candle-lit cellar tasting room. The Tenutae Lageder Comets range is the introduction to the Demeter tier.

Tenuta Manincor at Caldaro is run by Count Michael Goess-Enzenberg, who took over in 1991 and converted the estate to certified-organic in stages. The estate achieved full respekt-BIODYN biodynamic certification on all 50 hectares in 2009 and Goess-Enzenberg founded respekt-BIODYN. The Reserve della Contessa Pinot Bianco, Mason Pinot Nero and Cassiano red blend are the estate signatures.

Tip: Count Michael Goess-Enzenberg founded respekt-BIODYN in 2007. The Manincor cellar is built 12 m underground beneath the historic Caldaro villa. Visits by appointment.

Tenute Loacker Schwarhof ★ 4.8

Rainer Loacker bought Schwarhof in 1979 and farmed organically from the outset; the estate is BIOS-certified organic and operates biodynamically. 7 hectares in the St Magdalena heart on porphyry soils. The Morit Magdalener Schiava and the Gran Lareyn Lagrein Riserva are the estate signatures.

Tip: The Schwarhof farmhouse dates to 1334. The estate also runs Corte Pavone (Montalcino) and Valdifalco (Maremma); cross-property comparison flights sometimes available.

Weingut Garlider (Christian Kerschbaumer) ★ 4.7

ORGANIC CERTIFIEDEisacktal / Valle Isarco DOC

Christian and Veronika Kerschbaumer have farmed Garlider's 4 hectares in Feldthurns organically since 1999 and have been formally certified since 2009. Gruener Veltliner is the estate's signature - critic Stuart Pigott named Christian an ascending Eisacktal star. Also rare upper-Eisacktal Pinot Nero.

Tip: Tastings by appointment. The Gruener Veltliner Doppelmagnum bottlings are the large-format signature.

Werner Morandell's Lieselehof has farmed organically since 1993, an Alto Adige organic-viticulture pioneer. Around 6 hectares from 250 m on Lake Caldaro to 1,250 m in the Dolomites. Fungus-resistant variety specialist (Solaris, Bronner, Souvignier Gris); the Solaris-based Vino del Passo is a singular Italian dessert wine.

Tip: Visit includes the on-site South Tyrolean Vine Museum trail. The Vino del Passo Solaris is the cellar's standout pour.
