Frequently asked about Alchemy The Barrel Factor

What is a Bacchus Fume?

A play on Fume Blanc, the name Californian producers gave to oak-aged Sauvignon Blanc. Hidden Spring applies the idea to Bacchus, ageing it in oak barrels for extra richness.

What is the Alchemy range?

Hidden Spring's small-batch fine wine range. Only the estate's finest grapes are hand-selected for it, and each wine is meticulously handcrafted as a unique batch.

How does it differ from Hidden Spring's regular Bacchus?

The standard Bacchus is unoaked, bright and citrus-driven. The Barrel Factor is oak-aged, giving a subtle richness and more complexity at the expense of some aromatic lift.
