Aroma: dark cherry, plum, violet, cedar

Palate: fresh dark fruit, silky tannins, mineral precision, cedar spice

The flagship from the Derenoncourt-consulted Alonso del Yerro estate at Quintanilla de Onesimo: dark cherry, violet and cedar with silky tannins and mineral precision from the Valladolid limestone soils.

What it pairs with

  • Roast lamb with wild herbs
Silky tannins and fresh dark fruit complement the aromatic herb-fragrant roast lamb.
  • Grilled Iberico pork tenderloin
The wine's precision and silky tannins suit the clean, lean Iberico pork cut.
  • Aged Idiazabal cheese
Mineral precision and cedar spice are elevated by the smoky sheep's-milk cheese.

History

Alonso del Yerro was founded in 2003 by the Alonso del Yerro family at Quintanilla de Onesimo with consulting input from Bordeaux consultant Stephane Derenoncourt. The flagship wine expresses the precision and freshness typical of the Valladolid sector limestone terroir.
