Ferghettina ★ 4.7

Roberto Gatti founded Ferghettina in 1991 after more than 20 years working in Franciacorta viticulture and winemaking. The estate has grown from 4 hectares to 200 organic-farmed hectares spread across 11 of the appellation's 19 municipalities. The flat-bottomed Milledì bottle is the cellar's design signature, designed to maximise lees contact.

Tasting: Guided visit through the Adro cellar and the signature flat-bottomed Milledì bottle line. Vineyard walk through the organic-farmed parcels across 11 Franciacorta communes, plus a flight of Brut, Satèn, Rosé and the Milledì single-vintage. Reservation required.

Contadi Castaldi ★ 4.6

Founded in 1988 by Vittorio and Mariella Moretti in a renovated former brickyard at Adro, Contadi Castaldi is the Terra Moretti Vino group's second Franciacorta house alongside Bellavista.

Tasting: Visit by appointment to the converted former brickyard at Adro, with a tour of the kilns repurposed as the disgorgement and bottling line, plus a flight of Zèro, Satèn, Rosé and Soul Riserva.

Muratori ★ 4.6

Third-generation Muratori family estate at Adro, formerly bottling under the Villa Crespia label. The 54-hectare organic estate has parcels in all six of the consortium's vocational units and produces around 400,000 bottles a year across 9 labels. The gravity-fed cellar at Via Valli runs 20 metres underground; oenologist Riccardo Cotarella has consulted since 2020. In 2024 Muratori added still IGT Sebino wines under Setticlavio (Chardonnay) and Mantorosso (Pinot Nero).

Tasting: Visit by appointment to the gravity-fed cellar at Adro with its 20-metre underground galleries. Vineyard walk through the parcels distributed across all six Franciacorta vocational units and a flight including Cuvée 21, Numero Zero, Magnum Rosé and the Setticlavio still Chardonnay.

Ronco Calino ★ 4.5

Founded in 1996 by Paolo Radici, today continued by his daughter Lara and the cellar team following Paolo's passing in September 2024. The 13-hectare estate sits in a sheltered hill-fold at Adro called the Ronco; organic farming throughout. Around 80,000 bottles a year across 10 labels.

Tasting: Visit by appointment to the cellar at Adro, vineyard walk through the south-facing parcels and a flight of Brut, Satèn, Rosé and Vintage. The cellar sits in a sheltered hill-fold called the Ronco; the visit covers the soil-pit profile.

Tip: Aequa, the cellar's prestige bottling, is released in only the strongest vintages; check release windows before booking.

Tenuta Villa Crespia ★ 4.5

Tenuta Villa Crespia is the Muratori family's original Franciacorta brand, today produced at the Muratori cellar on Via Valli in Adro. The Villa Crespia line emphasises single-soil-type bottlings across the consortium's six vocational units. Roughly 60 hectares of organic vineyards contribute to the line.

Tasting: Visit shared with Muratori at the Adro gravity-fed cellar; the Villa Crespia line was the Muratori family's original Franciacorta brand and remains available in the tasting flight as a single-soil-type expression of the Chardonnay base.
