Ferias de Roa (Harvest Week)

Roa de Duero, a historic hilltop wine town in the heart of the Burgos sub-zone, holds its annual town fair in late September coinciding with the start of Tinto Fino harvest. Wine-oriented events include cooperative open tastings, local bodega visits, and traditional folk celebrations. Roa is also notable as the birthplace of Francisco Jimenez de Cisneros (Cardinal Cisneros) and has a medieval wine history predating the DO. The town's cooperative manages a significant share of the local harvest.

Gran Fiesta de la Vendimia DO Ribera del Duero

The DO's flagship harvest festival, held annually in Aranda de Duero since 2018 (eighth edition in 2025). Features winery booths in the Plaza Mayor offering tastings, traditional grape-treading ceremony, live music, and lechazo gastronomy. Multiple bodegas participate; tasting wristbands give access to all producer stands. A cultural programme accompanies the wine content.

Premios Envero y EnveroFest

Now in its 26th edition (2025), the Premios Envero is the region's premier consumer wine competition. The flagship 'mil siempre aciertan' format recruits 1,000 blind tasters to assess all submitted DO wines; the winners are announced at the outdoor EnveroFest at Parque de la Isla on the last Saturday of May, with live folk music and the largest outdoor Ribera del Duero wine bar. A formal awards gala follows in early June. In 2024, 89 wineries submitted 248 samples. Entry is ticketed for tasting; the awards ceremony is ticketed separately.

Fiestas Patronales de Aranda de Duero

Aranda de Duero's main town festival overlaps with the harvest season and includes wine-themed events, peñas (private wine clubs) celebrations in the underground bodegas, and the 'Fiesta de las Penas' where wine clubs open their subterranean cellars to members and invited guests. The underground bodega network - 136 catalogued cellars with 4.2 km of galleries - is at its most socially active during the September festivities. Lechazo (roast suckling lamb) is the centrepiece gastronomy, paired with local Ribera reds.

Ferias y Fiestas de Peñafiel

Peñafiel's annual town festival held beneath the hilltop castle - itself home to the Museo Provincial del Vino. Wine is inseparable from the celebrations: the castle's museum hosts special evening tastings and Bodegas Protos, whose cellars extend beneath the castle walls, often opens for extended visits during the fair. The event coincides with the weeks before harvest, when the grapes hanging on the terraced vineyards below the castle are approaching full ripeness.

Ribera del Duero en Vino + Tapas, Valladolid

The Ribera del Duero DO takes part annually in the Vino + Tapas event on Valladolid's main promenade. Winery stands pour current releases - Roble, Crianza, and Reserva - alongside local tapas producers. The three-day street event draws trade buyers and consumers and functions as a spring showcase of newly released vintages. The 2025 edition ran 16-18 May on Calle Acera de Recoletos.
