The flagship 'mil siempre aciertan' format recruits 1,000 blind tasters to assess all submitted DO wines; the winners are announced at the outdoor EnveroFest at Parque de la Isla on the last Saturday of May, with live folk music and the largest outdoor Ribera del Duero wine bar. A formal awards gala follows in early June. In 2024, 89 wineries submitted 248 samples. Entry is ticketed for tasting; the awards ceremony is ticketed separately.
Aranda de Duero's main town festival overlaps with the harvest season and includes wine-themed events, peñas (private wine clubs) celebrations in the underground bodegas, and the 'Fiesta de las Penas' where wine clubs open their subterranean cellars to members and invited guests. The underground bodega network - 136 catalogued cellars with 4.2 km of galleries - is at its most socially active during the September festivities. Lechazo (roast suckling lamb) is the centrepiece gastronomy, paired with local Ribera reds.
