Cacabelos
The DO's own fair, held on the Plaza Mayor of Cacabelos on the last weekend of April, with producers pouring side by side and tasting talks at the M.AR.CA museum.
Tip: The tasting talks run in the Museo Arqueológico on Calle Las Angustias, a few minutes' walk from the Plaza Mayor. Streets around the square close for the fair.
Cacabelos
Cacabelos opens the comarca's harvest calendar in late August with its Fiesta de la Vendimia, listed by the Ruta del Vino del Bierzo among the town's annual wine dates.
Tip: The fiesta runs before most of the fruit is actually picked. If you want to see harvest itself, come back in the second half of September.
Bierzo Alto
A one-day growers' fair held in the vineyard at Puente de Domingo Flórez, twenty minutes from Las Médulas, with small producers pouring and selling direct and commented tastings.
Tip: EUR 10 covers entry, the tasting glass, the tastings with the growers and parking. Tickets are sold on the gate on the day.
Bierzo Alto
Running since 1972 and declared a Fiesta de Interés Turístico Nacional, Bembibre's botillo gala fills a hall for a ticketed dinner and dance, with a Feria Agroalimentaria alongside.
Tip: The gala date follows the carnival calendar, so it moves with Easter. Tickets are sold through the ayuntamiento's dedicated festival site once the edition is announced.
Villafranca del Bierzo
Villafranca's patronal week around 14 September, with the Cristo procession, the gigantes y cabezudos and the Escola de Gaitas, and a ronda de vinos along the Calle del Agua.
Tip: The ronda de vinos works the Calle del Agua from about 20:30 on the opening Friday, which is the street where the town's old cellars sit.
Ponferrada
Ponferrada's patronal week for the Virgen de la Encina, with the procession and pendones parade, gigantes y cabezudos, food-truck zones and fireworks around 8 and 9 September.
Tip: The week lands in the middle of the Bierzo harvest, so cellars are working and tasting slots are scarce. Plan bodega visits for the days either side.
