The annual wine festival of Tain-l'Hermitage brings together the producers of Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, and Saint-Joseph for two days of public tastings in the town centre.
Tip: Most Tain domaines open their cellars during the festival weekend, making it the best opportunity of the year for private-visitor tastings at smaller estates.
M. Chapoutier's cellar shop and tasting room in Tain-l'Hermitage is one of the most accessible cellar-door tasting experiences in the northern Rhone, remaining open until 19:30. The full range from entry-level Crozes-Hermitage to the single-parcel Hermitage cuvees is available by the glass or in tasting flights. The cellar shop also stocks older vintages for purchase.
