Anteprima Colline Teramane ★ 4.4

Colline Teramane

The preview tasting of the Teramo hills DOCG, held at Atri and run with the Gran Sasso chamber of commerce, the Gal Terreverdi Teramane and the comune. Producers show the vintages they are about to sell.

Pours: Colline Teramane Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOCG, Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, Abruzzo Pecorino

Tip: Since the consortium merger the tasting covers Trebbiano, Pecorino and Cerasuolo too, so it is the best day to compare the whole Teramo range.

Cantine Aperte in Abruzzo ★ 4.6

Ortona and the Trabocchi coast

The regional leg of Italy's open cellar weekend. Abruzzo member wineries run guided visits, tastings and events on the last weekend of May. Fifty took part in 2025 and fifty two in 2024.

Pours: Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, Abruzzo Pecorino, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo

Tip: Book directly with the cellar rather than the association, and pick two estates in one comune. The Teramo hills and the Pescara hinterland are an hour apart.

Calici di Stelle in Abruzzo ★ 4.5

Ortona and the Trabocchi coast

Summer evenings at member cellars: tastings, live music, guided visits, dinners between the rows and stargazing. The 2026 edition counted 63 events across 25 Abruzzo wineries.

Pours: Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, Abruzzo Pecorino, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Tip: Each evening is a separate booking at a separate estate, so read the calendar before you plan a night. Nicola D'Auria fronts the programme.

Cantine Aperte in Vendemmia ★ 4.4

Ortona and the Trabocchi coast

Harvest visits at eleven Abruzzo cellars in 2026, among them Contesa at Collecorvino and Feudo Antico at Tollo, with vineyard walks, cellar tours and tastings during the crush.

Pours: Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Abruzzo Pecorino

Tip: This is the one window when you can watch the crush. Confirm the day by phone, because picking dates move with the weather.

Cantine Aperte a San Martino ★ 4.2

Ortona and the Trabocchi coast

The November leg of the open cellar calendar, built around the new wine and the feast of San Martino. Nine Abruzzo estates took part in 2024, presenting new releases or autumn visits.

Pours: New vintage Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Abruzzo Pecorino

Tip: Booking goes direct to the estate, not the association. It is the quietest of the four open cellar dates, so the winemaker has time to talk.
