Domaine Sigalas Baxedes Library Tasting ★ 4.5 · Santorini
Oia (Baxedes) · Baxedes, Oia, 84702 Santorini
Behind the popular Domaine Sigalas cellar door at Baxedes, the estate occasionally offers small-group library tastings of aged Assyrtiko vintages and limited single-vineyard bottlings that do not appear in the main flight menu. Booking these tastings is best done by email directly with the estate.
Estate Argyros Monosirto Old-Vine Tasting ★ 4.5 · Santorini
Episkopi Gonia · Episkopi Gonia, 84700 Santorini
Estate Argyros holds significant concentrations of vines over 100 years old and occasionally offers small-group tastings of the Monosirto single-vineyard Assyrtiko alongside vineyard walks among century-old kouloura baskets. These are less commonly part of the standard cellar door experience.
Domaine Sigalas Mavrotragano ★ 4.5 · Santorini
Oia (Baxedes) · Baxedes, Oia, 84702 Santorini
The Sigalas Mavrotragano is a small-production red from the estate's holdings of the recovered native variety and provides the most accessible cellar-door tasting of an estate-grown Mavrotragano on the island.
Anhydrous Winery ★ 4.4 · Santorini
Megalochori · Megalochori area, 84700 Santorini
Anhydrous Winery is a low-intervention producer near Megalochori farming Santorini Assyrtiko and Mavrotragano with a minimal-additives cellar approach.
Venetsanos Winery Heritage Cellar Tasting ★ 4.4 · Santorini
Megalochori cliff · Megalochori (cliffside above Athinios port), 84700 Santorini
The restored 1947 cliffside Venetsanos Winery sits on the caldera edge above the Athinios ferry harbour and operates as a tasting destination with a small modern wine programme.
Sellas Winery ★ 4.3 · Nemea
Archaies Kleones · Archaies Kleones, 20500 Nemea, Corinthia, Greece
A family cellar at Archaies Kleones working 80 stremmata of its own vines plus fruit from fifteen selected growers. The range runs from the Rizes and Oneirou Odos labels to an Agiorgitiko matured in amphora.
Tip: Ring ahead on the mobile rather than emailing. The tasting room is small and the family runs it themselves.
Ktima Raptis ★ 4.3 · Nemea
Leontio · Leontio, 20500 Nemea, Corinthia, Greece
A boutique cellar at Leontio built on top of a vine nursery. Georgios Raptis supplied American resistant rootstock across the zone, and the family now bottles Chnaria, Kokkinovrachos and Mavri Spilia off its own land.
Tip: Book the tasting through the estate's visit form. During the September festival Raptis runs its own vineyard party and barrel sessions.
Canava Roussos ★ 4.3 · Santorini
Mesa Gonia · Mesa Gonia 84700, Santorini, Greece
Canava Roussos at Mesa Gonia has been operating continuously since 1836. The traditional canava (cellar) structure and the family's historic Vinsanto and Mavrotragano holdings make Roussos a heritage tasting destination that sits off the main caldera-rim tourism route.
Antoniou Winery (Volcan Wines) ★ 4.3 · Santorini
Megalochori · Megalochori, 84700 Santorini
Antoniou Winery in Megalochori operates from one of the historic cave canava cellars dating to the 19th century, with a small modern production layered onto the heritage structure.
Vassaltis Vineyards Single-Parcel Cuvees ★ 4.3 · Santorini
Vourvoulos · Vourvoulos, 84700 Santorini
Vassaltis Vineyards has released a series of single-parcel Assyrtiko bottlings since the late 2010s that are less widely seen than the entry-tier cuvee.
Gofas Winery ★ 4.2 · Nemea
Koutsi · Koutsi, 20500 Nemea, Corinthia, Greece
A Koutsi cellar that doubles as a gallery: the reception room holds a permanent collection of painting and sculpture, and the underground cave keeps back vintages that have sold out everywhere else.
Tip: Ask to go down to the underground cave. Old vintages that have gone from the market are sold from there by the bottle.
Art Space Winery ★ 4.2 · Santorini
Exo Gonia · Exo Gonia, 84700 Santorini
Art Space at Exo Gonia combines a working winery with a contemporary art gallery in the structure of a 19th-century canava. The winery produces small-batch Assyrtiko and Mavrotragano alongside rotating art exhibitions in the same cave-cellar complex. The combination of wine and art makes Art Space a distinctive cellar-door visit away from the main caldera-rim tourist circuit.
Gavalas Winery ★ 4.2 · Santorini
Megalochori · Megalochori 84700, Santorini, Greece
Gavalas Winery in Megalochori is a small family producer working with Assyrtiko and rare Aidani-led whites alongside Mavrotragano reds. The estate has been farming Santorini vines for generations and the wines are sold direct from the village cellar with limited distribution beyond Greece.
Barafakas Winery ★ 4.1 · Nemea
Nemea · Pindou 8, 20500 Nemea, Corinthia, Greece
A grower family on Pindou street in the town itself, farming 180 stremmata and bottling twelve labels, about 300,000 bottles a year, from Agiorgitiko through Kydonitsa and Malagousia.
Tip: The seminars and tasting sessions are booked through the estate's visit page, and there is a shop on site for direct sales.
Zacharias Wines ★ 4.1 · Nemea
Petri · 2nd km Nemea to Petri road, 20500 Nemea, Corinthia, Greece
A cellar on the Petri road working two grapes almost nobody else in the zone bottles, the white Sklava and Kydonitsa, alongside its Agiorgitiko and Moschofilero.
Tip: Petri sits above the plain, so combine the visit with the drive up towards Asprokampos rather than doubling back into town.
Ktima Melitzani ★ 4.0 · Naoussa
Gastra · M. Agra 14, 59200 Naoussa, Imathia, Greece
Dimitris Melitzani, described on the estate's own site as one of Naoussa's finest barrel makers, founded the winery in 1918. The third and fourth generations now farm about 2.2 hectares organically on Gastra hill.
Tip: Gastra is a named single hillside, not a village, so confirm the turning with the estate before driving out.
Domaine Anagennisi ★ 4.0 · Nemea
Archaia Nemea · Archaia Nemea, 20500 Nemea, Corinthia, Greece
A small cellar at Ancient Nemea founded in 2006, working a short list of three grapes and selling most of what it makes through its own shop and website rather than the trade.
Tip: Visits are by prior arrangement and include a barrel tasting, which is unusual at this size of cellar.
Moraitis Winery ★ 4.0 · Nemea
Nemea · 4th km Nemea to Galatas road, 20500 Nemea, Corinthia, Greece
A single grape cellar on the Galatas road that keeps to Agiorgitiko and nothing else, and opens seven days a week at a time when most of the zone works by appointment only.
Tip: Being open on Sunday makes this the fallback when the rest of the villages have shut for the weekend.
Lafkiotis Winery ★ 4.0 · Nemea
Archaies Kleones · Archaies Kleones, 20500 Nemea, Corinthia, Greece
A long standing Archaies Kleones cellar pouring Agiorgitiko and Moschofilero, and one of the houses the producers association puts forward when the September festival opens its tasting programme.
Tip: Visits are by arrangement. The village also holds the temple of Herakles, which the modern games use as a race start.
Diamantakos ★ 3.9 · Naoussa
Mantemi · Mantemi, 59200 Naoussa, Imathia, Greece
The Diamantakos family bought land at Mantemi in 1978 and bottled its first estate wine in 1998. Third-generation winemaker George Diamantakos returned in 2005 to farm the hillside at 200 to 240 metres.
Tip: Production is small enough that the two-wine range can sell out locally before it reaches export markets, so buy on sight rather than waiting.
Ktima Chrisohoou ★ 3.9 · Naoussa
Strantza · Strantza, 59200 Naoussa, Imathia, Greece
The Chrisohoou family has farmed at Strantza since 1948, bottling Xinomavro under the Naoussa PDO. Its own distribution page names importers in the United States, Canada, Germany, Cyprus, Poland and China.
Tip: Ktima Chrisohoou appears by name in a US importer's own Greek portfolio listing, evidence the export reach is real, not just a marketing claim.
Argatia ★ 3.9 · Naoussa
Rodochori · Rodochori, 59200 Naoussa, Imathia, Greece
Argatia farms at 540 metres in the hillside village of Rodochori, twelve kilometres from Naoussa town, bottling a Naoussa PDO Xinomavro alongside PGI wines from Malagousia, Assyrtiko, Negoska and Mavrodaphne.
Tip: The white and rosé PGI bottlings are a useful contrast to visit for, since the PDO rule keeps every other Naoussa red to Xinomavro alone.
Kokkinos Winery ★ 3.8 · Naoussa
Dalamari · Dalamari, 59200 Naoussa, Imathia, Greece
Winemaker Stavros Kokkinos built a boutique winery in the Dalamari area, first bottling in 2009. He farms two Xinomavro parcels, Paliokalia planted in 1975 and Dalamari planted in 2004, aged in French oak.
Tip: The underground cellar and tasting room sit right at the winery, so call ahead rather than expecting a walk-in visit like the larger estates.
