The spring eating and drinking day of the Brda calendar, held in the lanes of the walled village of Šmartno with cooking done live in the street.

Tip: Turizem Brda counts more than 25 local and visiting restaurants and more than 30 Brda winemakers, plus a market of honey, olive oil, dried fruit, cheese and cured meat. The organisers publish details on the Brda in vino Facebook page and take enquiries at [email protected].

Dnevi odprtih kleti (DOK Brda), Open Wine Cellar Days ★ 4.8

The weekend the Brda cellars open together. The 2026 edition ran 13 and 14 June with 32 wineries taking part and the route starting at Dobrovo Castle.

Tip: The ticket covers a glass, a wristband, a ten euro voucher to spend on bottles and at least four samples at every cellar. A weekend pass is 55 euros and 65 with the shuttle bus.

Martinovo v Šmartnem, St Martin's Day in Šmartno ★ 4.5

The Brda keeping of St Martin, held inside the walls of the medieval village of Šmartno, the day the year's must is reckoned as wine.

Pours: Rebula, Merlot, New-vintage wine from the just-finished harvest

Tip: It is also the point growers judge the vintage by. Klet Brda's own 2026 harvest note says the quality cannot be assessed until St Martin's.
