Naoussa PDOXinomavroMantemi

A small Naoussa producer based in the Mantemi area, Diamantakos bottles Xinomavro under the Naoussa PDO while framing its work around the appellation's indigenous viticultural heritage.

Tip: The estate's trilingual site (Greek, English, French) points to an export-minded outfit despite its small size.

Mantemi

The Diamantakos family bought land at Mantemi in 1978 and bottled its first estate wine in 1998. Third-generation winemaker George Diamantakos returned in 2005 to farm the hillside at 200 to 240 metres.

Why locals love it: A three-generation cellar making about 2,000 cases a year from one hillside vineyard, run by the grandson of the man who first planted at Mantemi, with no export marketing push.

Tip: Production is small enough that the two-wine range can sell out locally before it reaches export markets, so buy on sight rather than waiting.
