ORGANIC CERTIFIEDMarano di Valpolicella
The Vaona family hold organic certification across the Novaia terraces at Marano, from the base Valpolicella up to the I Cantoni Classico Superiore and the Amarone.
Tip: Novaia is a certified organic estate in Marano that runs a proper booked tasting programme, which is not the norm at this scale.
ORGANIC CERTIFIEDPedemonte, San Pietro in Cariano
Speri farm their Pedemonte and Sant'Urbano holdings organically, and hold certification across the whole estate rather than on selected parcels.
Tip: The Monte Sant'Urbano single vineyard is the estate's organic flagship and the wine most tastings are built around.
ORGANIC CERTIFIEDMezzane di Sotto
Camilla Rossi Chauvenet runs the Mezzane estate on certified organic production across the whole range, from the Valpolicella through the Ripasso to the Amarone.
Tip: The estate publishes its organic certification on its own history page; visits and the wine bar garden are booked through the relais.
ORGANIC CERTIFIEDValgatara, Marano di Valpolicella
Vaona Odino bottle their Valpolicella Classico under an organic certification mark, priced in the same band as the uncertified reds of Valgatara.
Tip: The Valpolicella Classico Biologico is the label to look for; the organic mark is on the front.
ORGANIC CERTIFIEDCasterna, Fumane
Certified organic estate on the Casterna slope above Fumane, working the Iperico and Iltabarro bottlings from organically farmed Corvina and Corvinone.
Tip: The registered office is in San Pietro in Cariano but the working cellar and the vines are at Casterna in Fumane.
ORGANIC CERTIFIEDGargagnago, Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella
Small certified organic holding on Via Giare at Gargagnago, working a few hectares beside much larger neighbours in the same hamlet.
Tip: Gargagnago sits on the SP4, so this fits between Sant'Ambrogio and San Pietro in Cariano without a detour.
