The 1936 Deutsches Weintor at the southern end of the Deutsche Weinstrasse on the French border at Schweigen-Rechtenbach. The 18-metre sandstone monument marks the start of the wine road; viewing terrace and on-site vinothek.

Annual Deutsches Weinlesefest in Neustadt from late September to mid-October, with the crowning of the German Wine Queen and the German Wine Princesses. The closing parade is the festival's set-piece event.
