What it pairs with
-
Slow-roasted leg of lamb with anchovy and rosemary
The deeper, darker Roche d'Onyx suits powerful herb-anchovy lamb preparations. -
Wild boar with root vegetables
Game meats find a peer in the wine's dark fruit and mineral structure. -
Aged Mimolette
The nutty, caramelised cheese notes contrast beautifully with structured Gamay.
History
La Roche d'Onyx is Bachelards's deeper, more concentrated Fleurie, named for a granite outcrop of dark-coloured stone. Extended maceration gives greater structure and ageing potential.
- 2012 — La Roche d'Onyx first produced as a top cuvee
