What it pairs with

  • Roast quail with wild strawberry sauce
The wine's wild strawberry and rose notes echo small bird preparations with berry sauces.
  • Poulet de Bresse en cocotte
Premium Bresse chicken in its own juices is the Burgundy-Beaujolais crossover match.
  • Salade composee with foie gras
The floral, lifted Fleurie complements rich duck liver without clashing.

History

Michel Chignard began making single-vineyard Fleurie in 1978 from Les Moriers, a hillside parcel on the granite soils of Fleurie. One of the longest-standing single-vineyard labels in the appellation.

  1. 1978 — Les Moriers first bottled by Michel Chignard
  2. 2010 — Son Gregory Chignard took over vineyard management
