What it pairs with

  • Roasted duck with honey glaze
The riper, fuller Grille-Midi expression suits sweet-glazed duck preparations.
  • Lamb tagine with prunes and almonds
Concentrated Gamay from a sun-exposed parcel suits aromatic lamb tagine.
  • Aged Reblochon cheese
Firm washed-rind Savoyard cheese pairs with the structure of Grille-Midi.

History

Grille-Midi refers to a south-facing (midi = midday sun) lieu-dit in Fleurie, where the sun exposure produces riper, more concentrated Gamay than the Les Moriers parcel. Chignard first bottled this parcel separately in 2000.

  1. 2000 — Grille-Midi first bottled as a separate cuvee by Chignard
