Tenuta Kornell's Staffes Lagrein Riserva from the cellar's Settequerce porphyry and limestone slopes near Bolzano. Full-bodied, firm-tannined Lagrein from the historic estate at the foot of Greifenstein castle.

What it pairs with

  • Slow-braised beef short ribs
Lagrein's firm tannin and dark fruit suit slow-cooked beef; the wine's spice register matches red wine reductions.
  • Roast lamb shoulder with rosemary
Full-bodied Lagrein meets lamb; firm tannin balances the fat while violet notes flatter rosemary.
  • Speck and aged Asiago plate
The wine's spice and dark fruit match cured pork while acidity cuts the cheese's fat.

Frequently asked about Staffes Lagrein Riserva

What does Staffes Lagrein taste like?

When should I drink Staffes Lagrein?

From porphyry and limestone slopes around Settequerce, just north of Bolzano. Tenuta Kornell's vineyards sit at the foot of the Greifenstein castle ruins; the griffin marks the cellar's trademark.
