Capitel Croce is Anselmi's barrel-aged 100% Garganega, named for a wayside cross on the Capitel Croce hill; oak-fermented with extended lees contact to produce a richer, more complex expression of the varietal with hazelnuts, golden apple and creamy texture.

What it pairs with

  • Grilled lobster with tarragon butter
The wine's hazelnut-cream weight and high acidity are perfect for rich crustacean and herb butter.
  • Risotto al Soave con gamberi
Risotto cooked in Soave with prawns is a regional dish ideally paired with the wine used in its preparation.

History

Capitel Croce was Anselmi's early demonstration that Garganega could produce a world-class, age-worthy white wine when barrel-fermented; the wine helped establish the Monteforte hillside as a serious white wine site and influenced subsequent Soave producers.
