What it pairs with
-
Pan-fried carp in breadcrumbs
A classic Hungarian preparation; high-acid Furmint cuts through the fried crust and fish fat. -
Leek and potato soup
The wine's minerality and acidity complement the gentle sweetness of slowly cooked leek. -
Soft goat's cheese log with herbs
Mineral dry Furmint and herbed fresh goat's cheese are a harmonious pairing.
History
Molnár Pince in Bodrogolaszi tends plots on the Bodrog riverbank between Olaszliszka and Bodrogolaszi. This stretch of the valley is among the most fog-prone in the entire appellation; the family produces both dry and sweet styles from these riverside volcanic slopes.
