Palate: yellow stone fruit, almond cream, lemon pith, saline finish

The estate's barrique-led Friulian white, Pinot Bianco-led with a touch of dry-vinified Picolit. Yellow stone fruit and almond cream over a saline finish, the oak-aged counterpart to the stainless-steel Terre Alte.

What it pairs with

  • Risotto with porcini
Almond cream and vanilla aromatics handle the mushroom umami; full body holds the Carnaroli starch.
  • Lobster Thermidor
Vanilla and almond cream pair with the gratin's bechamel; saline minerality lifts the shellfish.
  • Aged Parmigiano Reggiano
Crystalline cheese salt mirrors the saline finish; almond aromatics echo the rind's umami.

Frequently asked about Livio Felluga Illivio

What does Illivio taste like?

Yellow apple, almond blossom, vanilla, honey and hay on the nose; yellow stone fruit, almond cream, lemon pith and a saline finish on the palate. Full-bodied with high acidity and a long finish.

How does Illivio differ from Terre Alte?

Terre Alte is a Friulano-Pinot Bianco-Sauvignon blend in DOCG Rosazzo with partial barrique ageing. Illivio is Pinot Bianco-led with Chardonnay and Picolit, fully barrique-fermented and aged. Terre Alte is the salt-and-mineral statement; Illivio is the almond-cream-and-vanilla statement.

When should I drink Illivio?

Drink between 3 and 15 years from vintage. The wine cellars well; almond cream and vanilla deepen with age from year 5 onwards.
