San León under the Herederos de Argüeso label: the heritage expression of the estate's founding Manzanilla solera from the Barrio Bajo of Sanlúcar.

What it pairs with

  • Coquinas (small clams) with garlic and parsley
Briny clams and sautéed garlic are the traditional Sanlúcar pairing for San León.
  • Salpicón de mariscos
Chilled seafood salad is elevated by the wine's bright acidity and saline register.

History

Herederos de Argüeso (Heirs of Argüeso) is the continuation label of the founding family after León de Argüeso's descendants maintained the original soleras. The San León under this label represents the oldest continuous thread of the estate's 1822 foundation Manzanilla solera.

  1. 1822 — León de Argüeso establishes original solera in Sanlúcar's Barrio Bajo
  2. 1900 — Herederos de Argüeso registered as continuation of the founding family estate
