Old-school, artisanal Gigondas from the Faraud family; pure Grenache-led fruit, excellent value, and uncompromising old-foudre tradition. A perennial insider favourite.

What it pairs with

  • Grilled lamb kebabs with Provencal herbs
Classic herb-and-cherry Grenache character matches grilled lamb.
  • Slow-cooked mutton with vegetables
Traditional Gigondas with traditional Provencal mutton stew.
  • Tapenade on grilled bread
Kirsch and mineral freshness pair well with olive tapenade.

History

The Faraud family has made Gigondas the traditional way for decades; old foudres, no new oak, no filtration, and long maceration. Domaine du Cayron is one of the most honest and underrated estates in the appellation.
