What it pairs with
-
Roast pork with apple
Viognier's apricot and honey register meets pork fat and sweet apple; acidity refreshes between bites. -
Goat cheese souffle
Lactic-tangy goat cheese aligns with the wine's almond palate; body handles the egg-and-cheese cloud. -
Thai green curry chicken
Coconut, lemongrass and chilli meet Viognier's stone-fruit and ginger lift; the wine's body handles spice. -
Pan-fried sea bream with fennel
Anise-perfumed fish meets the wine's tangerine and honeysuckle register.
History
Triennes planted Viognier in the 1990s, breaking from typical Provencal white varietals. Sainte Fleur is bottled as a single-varietal Viognier and became a benchmark for Provencal Viognier alongside Condrieu in the Rhone.
