What it pairs with

  • Lamb chops with herbs
Herbed lamb needs the wine's oxidative depth and long dry finish.
  • Aged Torta del Casar
Creamy sheep's cheese spread with intense flavour is a classic Oloroso pairing.

History

The Burdon label is named after John Burdon, an English merchant who partnered with Caballero in the 19th century to develop the El Puerto export trade. The Oloroso reflects the house's long history of producing fortified wines for northern European markets where the richer, drier styles were particularly prized.
