Dry Sanlúcar Oloroso from Argüeso with full body; rich dried-fruit and rancio complexity from oxidative solera ageing in the bodega's Barrio Bajo cellars.

What it pairs with

  • Slow-cooked lamb shoulder with herbs
Oxidative richness of the Oloroso complements the meaty depth of braised lamb.
  • Aged Manchego Gran Reserva
Crystalline, intensely flavoured old cheese matches the wine's nutty concentration.
  • Mushroom and lentil stew
Earthy pulse dish benefits from the wine's savoury rancio register.

History

The Las Medallas Oloroso is the complement to the Amontillado in Argüeso's heritage range. Produced under full oxidative ageing from the outset, without biological flor coverage, it develops the characteristic dark colour and rancio complexity of dry Sanlúcar Oloroso.
