Campo Morar (meadow of mulberries) is Viviani's single-vineyard Amarone from the highest plots on the Mazzano ridge in Negrar, at over 400 metres elevation; the altitude confers remarkable freshness and acidity to the dried-fruit concentration, producing a wine of particular precision and longevity.
What it pairs with
-
Venison rack with juniper berry sauce
The wine's iron-mineral precision and altitude freshness match the gamey intensity of venison. -
Aged Monte Veronese d'Allevo Stravecchio
The sharpest aged Veronese mountain cheese is the ideal regional match for Mazzano-altitude Amarone.
History
Claudio Viviani established the Mazzano estate in 1993 and first released his Campo Morar Amarone from the highest ridge plots in 1997. The altitude freshness and precision of his Amarone have made it a connoisseur favourite among those who prefer a more structured, food-friendly style.
